All go in Room 16

Room 16 have been going blog crazy! We popped along to see what they have been up to during Maths Week and this is what they had to say:
'I like going on the blog to answer the challenging questions, they get my brain working.' Jayden
'You can read other people's comments and I have been checking people's answers to the maths questions.' Tyrone
The class also visited the hall today to have a go at the maths specials. They had lots of fun, highlights included trinominoes, equation challenge and 3D shape construction.
'Maths week is awesome because we get the opportunity to answer difficult estimations and questions'. T and J.

Another question to get your brain working

Mrs V loves her car. As the price of petrol has risen she has been worrying about the cost. Her car can do 13km on 1 litre of petrol. How many litres would she need to drive 520km?

Question to get your brain working

Mrs Allen loves netball. She makes sure that her netball teams practice hard. Lunchtime practice starts at 12.45pm and finishes at 1.20pm. If she has 3 practices per week how long do the teams spend practising every week?
(Remember, you can get help from your family and friends.)

Assembly - Maths Week has started!

School assembly kickstarted Maths Week with some special guests showing off their skills. Constable Lisa and Constable Dave have taken on a soccer challenge for our 'Grand Estimating Event' that is taking place on Friday. They gave us a taste of what they can do, there were balls flying everywhere. Mrs V demonstrated her speed reading skills, the House Captains sprinted like Olympic athletes and Mr Fletcher juggled 3 balls. Can't wait for Friday!
Don't forget to post your comments on this blog (first name and Room number at the end) and have a go at the 'Questions to get your brain working'. Every comment and answer goes in the draw to win a prize.
Happy estimating!
