The Great Weymouth Mathematical Challenge

Today saw the best maths brains at our school battle it out for the 'Great Weymouth Mathematical Challenge' title. The juniors, middles and seniors contested syndicate heats and then the middle and senior winners battled it out for the grand title. Well done to Tristan from Room 11 and Johnny from Room 18 who made it to the final. Congratulations to Tristan who won the keenly fought contest.

More questions to get your brain working

Mr F is trying to get fit and help reduce global warming. He is using his bike and the train to get to school. He leaves home at 7am, cycles to the station and catches the 7.22am train. This train arrives at Homai station at 7.37am. He then cycles for 17 minutes to get to school.
1. What time does Mr F arrive at school?
2. How long does he spend cycling, in total?
(Remember, you can get your parents and family members to help you).

Lunchtime bingo

The seniors had great fun playing bingo on Monday during the lunch break. Today it was the middle school's turn. Tomorrow, the juniors will get the chance to shout 'house' and win some cool prizes.

Special Assembly

Monday's special assembly was a great way to start our maths week. Constable Selina gave us a taste of her ball throwing skills and Mr Neho demonstrated his press up skills. They will both be putting these skills to the test at the 'Great estimating event' on Friday. The House Captains will also be putting in a special appearance. We can't wait!

(Remember, you can get your parents and family members to help you).

Questions to get your brain working

Her office is 4 metres long and 4 metres wide. How many square metres of carpet will she need?
(Remember, you can get your parents and family members to help you out).
